Natasha Danvers claimed a bronze medal for Great Britain in the 400 metres hurdles.

She ran a lifetime best of 53.84 seconds to finish in third place behind Melaine Walker of Jamaica and Sheena Tosta of the United States.

The medal completed an incredible comeback for Danvers who has struggled with injury.

She tore a hamstring earlier in the year and looked certain to miss out on a place on the Great Britain Olympic team.

But the selectors showed their faith in her by including her in the team.

It was the third time she had reached a major final but the first time she had claimed a medal at world level.
